This winter, junior football players in Vaasa will see a much-needed improvement in their training conditions when the Escarmat Arena project by Vaasan Palloseuran Juniorit ry will be built along Silmukkatie, on the border between Huutoniemi and Klemettilä.
Escarmat Oy is the main partner of the project and continues its long-term commitment to supporting children’s and youth sports. The new arena name represents an important partnership for Escarmat and an opportunity to combine resources to develop junior football precisely where the need is greatest.
The project strengthens Escarmat’s role as a responsible company that supports youth, sports, and the community over the long term.
– The well-being of our employees and their families is one of our core values. Supporting the hobbies of children and young people is also an investment in the well-being of our employees, their families, and the entire region. Escarmat wants to be an active supporter, not just a sponsor. Collaboration with VPS Juniorit ry is a natural next step for us, and we appreciate the opportunity to act as a partner in this project, says Escarmat’s Chief Operating Officer, Tomi Korkeavaara.

The goal of the Escarmat Arena project is to improve the winter training conditions for junior football players in the Vaasa region, as the current facilities are no longer sufficient to meet the needs of the rapidly growing number of enthusiasts in the area. Through our partnership, winter training conditions for football in Vaasa will take a significant step forward.
– It is wonderful that the Vaasa region has companies like Escarmat, which consistently support children’s and youth sports and contribute to the development of sports facilities. For VPS Juniorit ry, Escarmat’s involvement in the hall project from the very beginning was crucial. Later, we learned that the opportunity to purchase the football facility from Village Shop in Tuuri would not have remained open for very long, as there were other interested buyers. Thanks to Escarmat’s support, the financial uncertainties surrounding the project were significantly reduced, enabling us to make quick decisions and proceed with the purchase. It could even be said that without Escarmat, having a new football hall in Vaasa for the coming winter would have been nothing more than a dream. A big thank you to Escarmat, and especially to Kari and Tomi, for making dreams come true, says the Chairman of the Board of VPS Juniorit ry Jaakko Antila.
The project is progressing well, but its implementation still requires additional funding, for which active work is currently being done. New partners are hoped to join in supporting local sports and being part of a project that increases visibility.
Escarmat arena will be available for use by the partner clubs of VPS juniors, and its doors are expected to open at the end of December.
